The mission of the ‘Rainbow Salute Foundation’ (RSF) is to celebrate and honour LGBTIAQ+ activists and HIV/AIDS activists in countries where the societal and/or political environment is against the afore mentioned communities.

The vision is to make activists feel appreciated, supported.

The foundation achieves it’s purpose by, but not limited to, organising activities that celebrate activists in-person, whilst ensuring their safety at all times.

The foundation is the holder of the RSF Fund. A fund that will be contributed to by (government) subsidies, corporate donations and private donations. The target of the fund is to contain sufficient funds, to enable financing of the activities of the Rainbow Salute Initiative and therewith achieving the mission of the foundation.

In-kind donations will be a significant part of the contributions to enable the goals of the RSF. For example, aspects like travel and accommodation of activists can be sponsored by travel organisations. Are you able to support the Rainbow Salute? Let us know!

Our Story

The Rainbow Salute Foundation and Initiative is a project started by Eric Klaver in Amsterdam. During 10+ years of involvement in rainbow networks of Dutch Political Parties and the organisation of their Pride presence, as well as through volunteering in the IAS AIDS conferences in Amsterdam (2018) and Montreal (2022), Eric had met so many passionate activists, that could really use some recognition and support.

Finding people to join the initiative, as board members or as volunteers, turned out not to be very difficult. The initiative received a lot of sympathy, and even some significant people agreed to join a Committee of Recommendation.
