Fundraiser Lunch & Auction 2026

When: Sunday, May 31 2026, 12:00-15:00.
Where: Hemelse Modder, Amsterdam

A Rainbow Salute Foundation Fundraising event including Live Auction of exciting items

A table set for change

At 12 noon, we welcome you with a glass in hand and the quiet anticipation of something meaningful. What follows is a beautifully composed three course vegetarian lunch of Hemelse Modder quality, thoughtfully prepared and seasonally inspired. Expect depth, elegance and care in every course.

All drinks are included throughout the afternoon, as is coffee or tea to conclude. During the lunch, our auction unfolds under the spirited guidance of Marvy and Jürgen, presenting a curated selection of items and experiences in support of our work.

Rainbow Salute Foundation exists to support and sustain activists working for equality, health and human rights in contexts where visibility carries risk and persistence requires resources. By taking a seat at this table, you strengthen that foundation.

Seats are €150 per person, or €500 for four seats. Each place contributes directly to the continuity of RSF and to the resilience of the activists whose work depends on steady, structural support.

Join us. Lunch beautifully. Bid generously. Keep courage resourced.

Meet Your Auctioneers

With humour, flair and impeccable timing, our auctioneers will do whatever it takes to liberate the final euro from your pockets at our sparkling auction.

The Marvelous Marvy (she/her)

As auctioneer for our fundraising lunch, Miss Marvy brings heart, humour and high energy to the room. Guiding the bidding with flair and focus, she will keep the momentum flowing from first raise to final hammer. She really does it all.

Jürgen Theuns (he/him)

As auctioneer for our fundraising lunch, actor and seasoned presenter Jürgen Theuns brings empathy, presence and professionalism to the room. Guiding the bidding with warmth, humour and heart, he will ensure every contribution lands with purpose.

The Impact is Real

For many LGBTQIA+ activists, the work is not occasional. It is daily. It looks like showing up when it would be safer to stay silent. Speaking when it would be easier not to. Standing visible in places where visibility carries consequence. Each of these choices carries weight — and requires support.

The funds raised during this lunch translate directly into continuity, stability and resilience. They help ensure that activists can continue their work, sustain their organisations and protect their wellbeing. Support does not always make headlines, but it makes progress possible. What is given at this table becomes capacity in the field.

The Collection Is Curated

Presented below is a carefully selected collection of items and experiences, generously made available in support of Rainbow Salute Foundation. Each offering has been chosen with intention. Some are rare, some are refined, some are simply delightful. All carry purpose.

Every item represents generosity in action. Every winning bid translates directly into sustained support for activists working for equality, health and human rights in contexts where that work is not always easy or safe.

We invite you to explore part of the collection below, discover what speaks to you, and join us in turning generosity into lasting impact.

Joyful Table Chaos

A warm, relaxed brunch gathering built around good food, good company, and the kind of joyful table chaos that makes people stay far longer than planned.

Inspired by Ottolenghi’s Comfort (you even get a copy of the book!), Marianne from the Rainbow Salute Foundation will prepare a colourful spread of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-style dishes to share together. Think shakshuka bubbling straight from the pan, creamy hummus, vibrant salads, couscous, roasted vegetables, warm breads, and plenty of small dishes passed around the table.

More than a formal seating, this is an afternoon of conversation, laughter, shared plates, and comfort food in the truest sense of the word. A table where people connect, slow down, and simply enjoy being together. At your home or Marianne’s.

The theatre has a special relationship with activism! This year, 4 offers of tickets are on auction.
‘Dolle Mina’ by Theatergroep Toetssteen

2 tickets for this thought-provoking play.

Who was Wilhelmina Drucker, and why did the famous Dutch feminist movement Dolle Mina take its name from her? Why is she far less known than her contemporary Aletta Jacobs, and why does her fight for equality still feel urgently relevant today?

In the tragicomic theatre production Dolle Mina, four actresses search for answers while moving seamlessly between the early 20th century and today’s world, where debates around gender equality and the growing “manosphere” feel more current than ever.

Starting bid: €50

‘Come from Away’ by Amsterdam Musical

2 VIP tickets (includes bubbles and a talk with the director after) for this uplifting musical based on extraordinary true events.

Set in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of the small Canadian town of Gander, Newfoundland, which welcomed nearly 7,000 stranded airline passengers after North American airspace suddenly closed.

In a time of fear and uncertainty, strangers came together through kindness, humour, and humanity. A cast of 12 actors takes on dozens of roles, portraying both the passengers and the local residents in this fast-moving and deeply moving musical experience.

Starting Bid: €50

‘Afstandsmoeders’ by Theatergroep Toetssteen

2 tickets for this groundbreaking play.

Afstandsmoeders tells the powerful and confronting story of a hidden chapter in Dutch history. Between 1956 and 1984, around 25,000 women and girls in the Netherlands gave up their children, many of them under immense pressure rather than by choice.

Thousands of mostly unmarried pregnant women were sent away from their homes, placed in institutions, and forced to surrender their babies, with consequences that still echo today.

A shocking and deeply moving story from a past that feels almost impossible to believe was so recent.

Starting Bid €50

‘The Addams Family’ by Musicalvereniging DOS

2 VIP tickets (includes bubbles in the intermission) for this entertaining musical.

A delightfully dark musical comedy based on the iconic Addams Family. When Wednesday Addams falls in love with a “normal” young man, two very different families are brought together for one unforgettable evening filled with chaos, secrets, and wonderfully macabre humour.

Starting bid: €50

“We cannot make the work easier. But we can stand alongside those doing it, bringing recognition, connection and moments of relief where they are needed most.”
